GTI – Global Temperature Increase – was founded at the beginning of 2020, soon after the outbreak of the corona pandemic, by a concerned group of weather aficionados, fearing the devastating impacts of climate change on our planet.
We are no strangers to the topic. Each and every member of our group discovered from a very young age his or her intrinsic love and passion for a vast array of weather phenomena.
While rain, cloud, snow, fog, ice or storm were the cause of nuisance to many, to us they were simply our childhood’s toys, and our playground was the immense outdoors.
Some of us built meteorological station and waited for hours to follow the advancement of storms, the dissipation of fog, or the falling snowflakes on a winter’s day.
Others used to keep a thorough weather log and predict, according to raw data we documented for weeks, the next weather forecast. However, over the years we have noticed signs that indicated something unusual was occurring.
Our logs could no longer forecast with plausible accuracy the next rains. Summer, for some unexplained reason, prolonged for weeks, and we experienced recurring periods of excessively hot weather. We soon discovered that all signs revealed a single sad truth – man and his deeds were the sole culprit for a vast ongoing climate change.
The corona pandemic proved once again that not much is needed to undermine man’s life. We decided the time has come to make a difference.
We created this website to provide an updated information about climate change and weather phenomena – mainly in the Middle East – to reduce their present and future impacts on our lives.
We strongly believe that by reaching a growing number of people and informing them about the different hazards derived from climate change, there is a chance to alter man’s bad habits and form a powerful and unified public opinion against pollution and for the implementation of green energy.
